I'm not sure what you mean.
I keep all my files saved on a secure flash drive, which has a backup flash drive... but I don't know why that would make a difference.

I mean have you backed up data recently. Ask whoever does most of the stuff for the computer.

It's a brand new PC.

Software like Norton and McAfee tends to return false positives a lot. I can't think of an alternate solution besides switching to a more accurate antivirus software.

That appears to be Mac OS X only, which wouldn't be very helpful for this user because they've got to have Windows considering they're using Internet Explorer.
