What format will give music the best quality?

I have tried to bring songs from itunes into scratch as both .mp3 files and .wav files. Both are impossible to understand because the quality is so bad. How can i make the quality better?

Re: What format will give music the best quality?

When uploading, uncheck the little box that says "Compress Sounds & Images." This should help.

Mokat's basically answered your question. WAV is the highest quality (it's lossless), but it doesn't matter if you compress it within Scratch.

Re: What format will give music the best quality?

I'd use wav, just because sometimes scratch has trouble with mp3s
Regardless, it shouldn't be too bad quality, even with a little bit of compression
