That's right! They all have yellow characters!
Is it something about having yellow characters that makes a show more popular?

I don't know? Maybe its because yellow is a bright colour. Bright colours usually attract children. Maybe they watch it because of bright colours?

The Simpsons really doesn't have much of a fanbase young enough to be attracted by bright colors...
