Hi! I have been around on Scratch for awhile, and I know many projects that should be featured! If I were Curater the featured projects would be:
G-PG
Very Interactive
By a scratcher never curated before
A more challenging Project
I have always wanted to be a Curater, but never thought to try!

1. Less than 50 or less words,
2. Just saying, "I want to be a curator"
3. Less that 4 sentences,
4. Sounding that you have to become a curator, like, "Make me curator",
5. Irrelevant comments,
6. Saying that you want to "only" post a certain project type,
7. Not giving a reason why you want to become a curator.
8. Not giving examples.
Thanks.
i appreciate your effort in making the speech, but I think your chances will go up if you fix there errors:
I think scratch wants you to put a link to projects you like
Giving reasons why you want to be one, why you?

Hello, I would like to be a curator because it would be awesome to have the privilege of giving deserving projects front page status. Lately so many platformers have made it to the front page that I would not curate any unless one really really stood out to me. I would try to curate a wide variety of projects including; 3D projects, scrolling games, drawing programs, projects with good AI, and classic games. Here are examples from each category.
http://scratch.mit.edu/projects/JTxt/1696281
http://scratch.mit.edu/projects/BIG-red-BUTTON/1872191
http://scratch.mit.edu/projects/nasami/1336272
http://scratch.mit.edu/projects/LolCat72/1457697
http://scratch.mit.edu/projects/SenatorPenguin/1425
To select projects to curate, not only would I look around myself, I would post a forum thread and maybe a project asking for suggestions. I would try to curate a new project every day to give plenty of scratchers a chance to have a curated project.

Also, even though it's more than 50 words and 4 sentences, it's pretty short.

Hello. I'm Mokat and I'd like to apply to be curator. I'm an 11-year-old girl, and my favorite thing to do in my free time is to computer program- using Scratch, HTML, CSS, and I'd like to learn Python.
I would like to be curator because I feel that the quality of the front page is getting worse- More art projects, coloring contests, and "Remix this and add ____!" are getting frontpaged and less games, funny animations, and genuinely good projects are getting front-paged.
I enjoy looking at the curated projects to see what others have chosen to curate. I usually enjoy animations, AMVs, and certain games a lot, but I sometimes come across something where I'm like, "Wow! This is awesome!", but then I see that the project only has a few views. I wish I could help to increase those views, but I'm unsure of how. If I were curator, I would curate those projects.
I would curate new projects daily, because I know some curators that only curated a couple projects. I like variety, so I would choose a broad range of project genres: Games, simulation, platformers, animations, AMVs (as these can be quite original and complicated, unlike what Firedrake969 stated), platformers (which can also be quite original), and pretty much any project that I find "good".
I would take requests from people on curated projects, but I would have a few guidelines:
-The project has to have less than 60 views
-It can't be a project where you "remix and enter the contest!" or "Add yourself doing _____!"
-The project owner can't have been frontpaged recently (except for Scratch Design Studio or Newest)
I hope that the Scratch Team takes me into consideration for curator, and remember, Sⓒ®atch On!

It doesn't necessarily have to be a certain length, because putting that requirement makes it seem like the longer the speech the better.
If you can get all your message across in two words, go ahead. But that might be hard to do.

That is correct! Another way of saying it is, it doesn't matter how long it is, it just has to be good.

Ya, quality not quantity. But that speech had some factors that were not used.

I understand but putting a message into two words can't be done. ME CURATOR is the only thing I can think of.

A curator is a person who chooses other people's projects to be on the homepage.

Hello, this is BurritoSM. I am interested in becoming a curator. I have been on scratch for more than a year, spreading between 3 different accounts. I know of very good, unknown projects that should be curated, as well as several other ideas. If I am chosen, I would focus on mainly this following:
Under 100 views
Math based projects
Innovative creations; something never done before, that is magnificent.
Overall fun games.
I will stray away from animations, so, the scratchers will receive interactive projects for the most part.
Thanks for even considering choosing me, BurritoSM.

Hello, I'm PokemonGardevoir and I think it would be fun to be a Curator. I've been a member of Scratch since 2009 and began using it in 2007, and I also help out with the SDS when I'm free.
I think that the curator is really important in the community- It's like the Featured selection, but maybe even more important because its selected by the community for the community, instead of by the admins. I'm not saying Featured is bad or anything, I've been featured myself and it was a big honor! But the curator is special because its an opportunity for both the scratchers being featured and the scratcher doing the featuring- It's a win-win situation!
I would try and curate projects that make learning fun, like trivia games, for example. I would also curate games, animation and simulations that have really good graphics or unique programming. 1s1s really amazes me! I'd also go for other unique twists on games, whether it be in gameplay, or script! I would try to avoid pen and fractal projects, but If I see one that stands out to me I'd curate that!
Here are some examples of projects that I like! Note that these examples are well-known ones, I'd try to curate projects with less views, and with a user who hasn't been frontpaged in a few months similar to the Featured slots!

Another reason i want to be curator is that there are a lot of new scratchers that have great projects, and nobody looks at them. I want those scratchers to have a chance at having their projects be well known
