Re: How to add content that costs money?

Do you mean real money or in-game money?

You say goodbye to 1.4, I say hello to 2.0.

Real isn't possible. In-game can be done with variables.

Correct me if I'm wrong on either of these, but I think there are two main reasons:
One, the person could probably just download the project and get whatever it is that they were supposed to pay for, unless you added huge workarounds and encryptions. They'd probably still be able to bypass those anyway.
Two, it wouldn't really be, if you will, in the spirit of Scratch, and you would kinda be making money off of something which isn't yours. Scratch projects are, for most intents and purposes, your work; however, the entire Scratch program itself is still translating those simple programming blocks into complex Flash, which is (as I gather) no small feat.

I'm no authority on this, though, someone else could probably tell you much better.

Imagine • Program • Share
This is scratch.  If you don't want to share, use something else.  If you want to make money, try Stencyl, Game Maker, Game Salad, or other similar programs.  They all cost money, so you should get good at programming using scratch before you try those!
