I think notifications you receive on your other accounts could be displayed on what you choose your 'main' account to be, so you don't have to log out and in to your other accounts to check your messages.
For example, on my test account, I sometimes check my messages daily, sometimes weekly. Occasionally I get pretty important messages on my test account, but I may not log in to that account until a few days after to check them.
Of course, you would have to verify that you own those other accounts by typing in that account's password, but once you do any messages you get on those accounts will appear on your main account's notification list. You have the option to switch this feature off if you want though.
Who agrees?

I support to, but if you knew someone else's password, you could peep and read the messages that they have, so I belive there should be an added layer of security, such as a second password or E-Mail?

What about alt accounts just for fun?
Yes. It's very fun to create an alternate account after there's a big message saying to have one per person. Okay then.
