We don't need poor Slendy to be any more mainstream.
since when was mainstream a bad thing
if good things become mainstream then peoples tastes are improving

Yeah, but the sequels killed it.

The original is the exception. Halloween 3 was where it started to go downhill, but people were like "hey, at least the horribleness has nothing related to the main series except the title." Little did they know that the monstrosities of horror movie sequels carried over the main series.
Back on topic, I have a nagging suspicion that the guys who made Entity are going to make a sequel set in the Fear Mythos if Entity is successful enough. Just a theory.

the long nails are minor and im pretty sure ive seen him described as having claws before so thats not too much different and i why do you even have a problem with him killing innocent women

He was never a killer.
He simply took children away and such.
Never killed anyone.
In Entity, he just seems like an outright murderer.
...And the nails just look stupid.

excuse me i think its you who has slenderman wrong
of course youre going to have variations on the character but the ways ive seen him described he usually eats children so murder isnt really much of a big deal
and the nails dont look all that bad imo

I'm petty sure all those missing children and high school film students died in some fashion.
Not to mention that he has EVERY REASON to want to kill the main characters. They're investigating him, and it's implied that there's some connection between the main character's past and Slendy.
Bottom line, they should tell all of the theaters it's being shown at to set the price to $20.

I don't blame him for wanting to get rid of the creeps investigating him
I just don't like how they portray him as a cold-blooded Satan-like murderer.

thats basically what he is though
slenderman is a creature without mercy who kills when he needs to kill
he has pretty much no personality which, in a way, makes him all the more scary

My theory:
You know how we kill animals and eat them? We feel emotion for them, but don't realize how much it hurts them, and how scary it is.
Same thing goes for Slenderman and humans. He eats them, but doesn't know what he's doing, and naturally, when being searched for, he gets rid of them.

Ohai Jeff.
Another good candidate for a movie is Russian Sleep Experiment. However, this is a movie I WOULD go all samid over. Slenderman is acceptable because there's no concrete version of the story, yet RSE is spelled out for us clearer than day.
Back on topic, I think there's a hidden reason for Surgism. While Surgists says it's because the modern mythos differ from the original too much, I think it's really because there's so many crossovers between modern mythos that you'd have to follow at least 10 to understand a concrete story. Anyone agree?

thats your theory though and you cant expect everybody to agree with you
slenderman is more abstract than other characters and can be represented in many different ways

Well, I do think it's difficult to find a true story to him.
I agree in a way. We all pick our own stories.
However, I'm upset about Entity because it's only showing people ONE story about him: that he's a psychokiller who prays on innocents.
Thus it will start a wave of people taught with THAT story, eventually overpowering all other theories in the fandom.

most movies cant show a character in more than one way. a collection of short films maybe, but a full length movie usually only depicts a character as a single thing because if it didnt that would be too confusing
