Thanks  smile

I still prefer x10hosting's free services.

Re: 000Webhost

Well, 000WebHost deleted Mod Share 2 for no particular reason, so I wouldn't recommend them.

x10 is ok, but a bit unreliable. There aren't really any good free hosts, but some are better than others.

Currently, I use FatCow, but you have to pay for that.

Re: 000Webhost

BlueTetra uses it, and we really haven't had any significant problems.

Powrhost works well too, BlueTetra was on it for a while (moved because they stuck huge banner ads on the homepage when the site was inactive for a while), and it offers unlimited storage.

Re: 000Webhost

I've been using 000Webhost for a website I made for a few weeks so far and it seems to work well for me. Since I haven't had it for a long time (or explore many of its features), I can't say too much about it, but the pages load in a reasonable time and I've been able to host files on it fairly well.

Re: 000Webhost

From the things i've heard, 000Webhost is pretty bad, as they can cut off websites for no particular reason and have VERY low bandwidth / connection max; but they're only based on other's opinions and so may be slightly biased.

I'm back.
Maybe.

Re: 000Webhost

I always use it and it's decent. The only thing I don't like is the manual review that happens, but it makes the site more reliable I guess.

Re: 000Webhost

1FreeHosting is terrible... It takes your site down if you get to much traffic...

So does 000WebHost. I recently learned that they're actually essentially the same host.

Re: 000Webhost

At least 000webhost tells you why.  1FreeHosting shut down ModShare III for "inactivity".
Also, I enjoy 000webhost's premium services (just saying.)

Wait, if 1FH and 000WH both shut down your websites, who doesn't? x10?

Re: 000Webhost

I don't think sites with their name in the address shut it down, like comeze.

They shut down Mod Share 2 for "Excessive CPU usage", when there was little activity in the week before it.

Also, I tried setting up the Mod Share 4 test site on them (because it wouldn't get much traffic), but as soon as I had started the database driver, it was deleted for executing too many MySQL queries. I looked at the code, and it executed a total of 5 queries before it was deleted.

That's weird.  I've executed thousands (exaggeration) of queries and I don't get shut down (on the free service.)  Maybe they just don't like you.  tongue
