That's like "short story writing month"
Also, I am actually keeping up with word count goals this time.
I amaze myself and the 1667 a day doesn't seem THAT daunting anymore.Uhhh, it's his first time doing it. You kind of have to try it out first and see how many you think you can write the next year. It's my first year too, but I might raise mine a little bit. Mine's at 7,000 right now. That's the minimum I can do in my class. The maximum I can do is 15,000, so I'm not making the restrictions. My teacher is.
Your teacher is . . . setting your word count for something unrelated to school?
And set the goal so low that it undermines the idea of the month?
Some people have to do it for school I think
Maybe the teacher plans to read them all and doesn't want to go through a whole novel per student

Then assign a writing assignment of "anything above 7000 and below 15000 words" so that students can do proper NaNoWriMo on their own.

Heya! Today, if anyone wants to join in, 6:00pm-6:30pm or 6:45-7:15pm your local time (I'm on GMT so ) I'm holding a 500 word challenge! Just reply to this post with your before and after word scores, and I'll make a NaNoWriMo Motivational poster or something!
I managed to do it in 25 minutes yesterday, so please just give it a go! It really pushes up your word count!

Yay! But check your word count again right before you start! Are you on NaNoWriMo.org or the ywp site? I'm on the main one.

Yay! Well done! I sorta fiddled with a pic of Zoro I found (basically just added text) so it's not a great prize, soz. Did it help?
And I haven't uploaded it anywhere, so I'll post it on my next project. Yay!

Uhh, I'm homescholled, and I'm in a class and my teacher said that we get points for doing NaNoWriMo and so I'm doing it, and she said that for my grade, I can write anywhere between 7,000 words and 15,000 words. Plus this is my first year doing NaNoWriMo and I wanted to see how many I think I will be able to make. All you guys have probably been doing this for years and are experienced at meeting your goals. Besides, Mazdafreak's projected finish time was like February 2013! So don't complain that his goal is too low. I think some of you guy's's goals are too high!
