The idea of your parents all disappeared in the pilot movie, while cool, would get scary after a while.

I think the original adaption was HORRIBLE. 'course, the new one is BETTER though it prevents a sequel.

I really don't like the old one. Gene Wilder is good in it, but I don't think it's his best. Besides, it steers too far from the book than I can handle.

The NEW movie only has a few minor additions, is far closer to the book, and, not to mention, has GREAT acting. I'd love to see "Charlie and the Great Glass Elevator" like the newer one, but Freddie Highmore (Charlie's actor) is grown-up now
