im not sure scratch will allow this, but it would be nice in Scratch 2.0.
It would see what your username is...

*sigh* I still don't get why they don't just make it so you can't drag it into an if type block/it wouldn't recognize it as an input

an expansion of that would be simply don't allow it in control blocks, otherwise repeat until and wait until could be used. There are still problems though, for example
forever set [name v] to (username) if <(name) = [zammer990]>
