I created a costume that was just text and put it at the bottom of the screen like this:
Then when I pressed OK and played the project, I noticed it was in the wrong place. When I went back to the costume and pressed edit, it looked like this:
Every time I try to edit it, it moves back to that position. I've tried moving it to another sprite but it still does that. I've tried closing and opening the project, even re-installing scratch, nothing works :\ If I add something other than text, it stays where it is until the text is moved, then it moves up too.

Maybe you have a script that makes it go bakc to its original positon or maybe you should make a script thatll make it go to the position you want. If you want it at the center make it [go to x(0)y(0)] thatll make it go in the middle.

Well, first of all, notice how there's a scroll bar on the bottom even though it's only at 1x. This means a fairly common glitch happened, causing the sprite to be bigger than the stage. The text tool does that to me a lot. As for why it's moving out of place like that, I'm fairly certain it has to do with the same glitch.
I usually work around this glitch by manually entering newlines, rather than letting the editor do it for me. Try that, and see if it helps.

It's still doing it :\

It won't go where I tell it to, it just goes to the same y position (150) every time and I can't see any scripts that tell it to do that.

Try moving the sprite's center up.

Okay, I tried it again and it now goes to the right place when I double click on [go to x(0) y(0)] but if I play the whole script the y position goes to 150. None of the go to blocks have 150 on them.

That's strange. Would you mind sharing a link to your project so we can see the code and the sprite?

Hi melikecheese -- when does the bug occur in the program? I've played it up to the point where I meet the magician and play the follow me game. The "top left" sprite seems to be staying in the bottom. Or is it another sprite?

It changes to another sprite (bottom) because I was trying to see if that made a difference, and it happens after the follow me game, on the 6th and 7th text costume that appears. So at the end of the whole project.

So strange! I'm seeing what you mean. When the script gets to costume 9, the sprite goes to (0, 150) even though there is a go to xy(0,0) right before it. I'm not sure why it's doing that... In the meantime, I went around it by copying the costume of one of the "working" texts such as costume 8 and and replacing its text with costume9's text and then setting the x,y of the sprite to (-1. 179), which is the location that the sprite goes to on costume 8 -- did that make sense? Does that work?

Thank you, that seems to be working

Awesome! I'm going to ask around here to see if it's a weird quirk in Scratch. I hope you'll be able to submit your final project today. If you need a little more time, just let us know. We understand that a strange bug like this can really take up tons of time!

Could we possibly have an extra day? There are a few things we still need to add.

that usually happen if you draw a dot anywhere and then look at the dot again it is going to be in the center

Sure -- please post a link to your project in the Collab Camp gallery when its ready.

How do you get a costume to stay for say 3 secs, then to change to another. When i use WAIT 3SECS it just doesn't do the action for the 3 secs and changes costume more or less instantly.

Move The Sprite Middle [Edit Mode]
And Move The Sprite Bottom [At Normal]
