There is! I have the patterns on my laptop, you can find them by Googling 'homestuck scalemate sewing patterns'. I use the ones made by lishlitz on dA. 
I have two; a green one named Officer Picklefoot and a red one named Doctor Cherrysnout. They're so cute together. ^.^

I have a friend who made like 4 of them. (Pyralspite, Liaison Pumpkinsniffle, Senetor Lemonsnout, and Haunted hallowfire)
I always though you bought the scalemates from one of those online homestuck stores, either topatoco or whatpumpkin.
