Nope, this school doesn't have a name anymore. It needs one badly, though, and it's up to you to come up with one!
Because of recent events, there are now rules for posting on this and any teachers' thread. Look below.
Don't understand the purpose of a University? The concept is quite simple, actually. While you can teach yourself using the provided tutorials here on Scratch, as well as other online tutorials, there's nothing that can compare to one-on-one schooling with an actual person, rather than viewing an outdated tutorial. Here you can choose your class, and go learn. Unlike regular school, there aren't any boring assignments, you don't have to wait for the rest of the class, and best of all, you can start using your newfound knowledge right away. And that's only a fraction of the greatness of this University. You will be taught by friends here on Scratch, and you can always ask questions. You can sign up for whatever class you'd like, and if you feel you're skilled enough, you can apply to become a teacher yourself! Work on your weaknesses and perfect your strengths to become the best Scratcher you can be!
Go ahead, immerse yourself in learning! If you have any questions, feel free to ask me or another teacher.
1. No fighting or arguing whatsoever. Any disputes must be worked out either on a project or a gallery and may not be posted here. The only contradictions that may be posted here are ones against me, because I can handle things like that well. This means that if you ever have anything negative to say, it had better be about me.
2. Please do not be upset if I don't accept your application for a teaching position. I value each and every Scratcher on this site for their respective skills, but I can't accept everyone.
3. Applicants must be Scratchers to be considered for a teaching position. If you have two accounts and one is a Scratcher; the other is a New Scratcher, please apply as a teacher using the account that has already reached Scratcher status. Students may be either Scratchers or New Scratchers.
4. Please only reply with constructive comments on others' work. Note the difference between the words constructive and criticism. A good example of a constructive comment would be, "I like your game! You did very well with choosing attractive colors for the sprites. However, there is a glitch when you press the up key. The sprite moves left instead of upwards. Otherwise, it's great!" Now, here's an example of criticism: "man this game is so boring i cant finish the game why did you make it like that youre no good at programming". If you can't see the difference, then I worry for you.
5. Teachers accept students. I don't. (Unless you're applying for one of my classes.) However, if you are applying to become a student, you must fill out the form and post it here so that I may sort you into the correct class.
Here are the classes we offer, as well as who teaches them, and the students currently enrolled:

If you want to become a teacher, fill out the form below, and I will reply to you telling you whether you have been accepted or not. In depth, you need to fill out the form with your username, the subject or subjects that you wish to teach, an example or two of your skill in those areas, and a short explanation of the things you can teach. If you have had any prior experiences teaching, be sure to add that to your application! Unfortunately, I do not count helping someone with a script or critiquing a graphic as prior experience.

Examples of your skill:
Your experiences in this/these subject(s):
Please note, applying teachers: The teacher limit for a single subject is three. Please do not apply to teach a subject if there are already three teachers for it, as I will reject your application.
If you'd like to become a student, great! Just fill out the below form. You need to enter your name, what class or classes you want to join, and which teacher or teachers (if any) that you'd like to instruct you. Below that, you give yourself a 1 - 10 rating on how skilled you think you are in the subjects you're applying for. For example, if I was applying to enter a Programming class, I'd say something like "Out of ten, I'm about a 3 because all I know how to use are the motion and look blocks".

I'd thought that I was the first one to think of taking over after CatPerson quit, but it looks like I was wrong! WingsGames has already created a thread for the reboot of Scratch University. I have decided to honor her unique decision and will be changing the name of the school, as well as a few rules that I had left in place in respect for CatPerson's rules. But I need some names for the school! Please think out of the box, and don't be afraid to suggest an idea. I will consider all names, no matter how farfetched! The ones I deem best will be placed below and you will have the opportunity to vote on your favorite.
Note: You do not need to be a part of the school to suggest or vote upon a name
As of Tuesday, October 23, we are in need of the following:
Teachers
Internships
Students
- Reporting & Writing
- Collaborating & Managing
Important News
It seems that some of the teachers have unofficially resigned. If you are still willing to teach here at the one and only SU, please post below, and I will mark you as a confirmed teacher and member.
Teachers - If I have forgotten you or overlooked your thread, please tell me.
Thank you!
I need name suggestions!
What would be an appropriate name for the school? Suggest ideas and vote for your favorite in the Poll section!

You should rename this and make a different university. Then there could be two!
I guess my thread is back!

1 problem... technically everyone has quit. I'm working for another collab who started up as Scratch Uni.
Hmm... Is that so?
Alright. I'll go around and see if the teachers are still willing to be a part of SU. Thanks for telling me!

Alright, thanks for applying! I just need some time to check up on the teachers; make sure they're still willing to participate.

Well, I thought the university was over, so I didn't make a thread and actually started my own school, so I don't want a class anymore. Sorry.
That's totally fine. Good luck with your school!

Also I did create a thread...Yes, I mentioned you at the top, right after CatPerson.
Or did you make a newer thread than even that?
No I meant I have a writing class thread on page 2 or so...

PS I added that last part, it's not automatic.

Cool! Could you tell me more about your OS on one of my projects? It sounds very interesting.
Oh, and could you also link me to your thread?

It's not my own OS, LS97 and his company, SilviSoft developed it. The thread is http://scratch.mit.edu/forums/viewtopic.php?id=108078

I'd like to apply to be a teacher:
Username: StarscreamClone (or Starscream or SC for short)
Requested subjects: Programming and scripting
Examples of your skill: This project and this project best demonstrate my skills.
Your experiences in this/these subject(s): Not sure what to put... My projects are the only things I can think of.
Thanks you, and I hope you consider me!

What exactly do you do for internships? I'd apply to teach that as well.
