Let's hope it isn't that bad.
It will be worse in Southeast.

What is with all of these hurricanes hitting the Northeast? It's kind of unsettling, seeing as it's not anywhere near where hurricanes usually occur.

But no. Seriously, someone needs to make a motivator of this with Sandy Cheeks in it.

How awkward would it be if the guy who designed her was affected by it? o.o

I'm very into weather and stuff, so I know a bit about hurricanes and such.
Hurricane Sandy is going to mix with an arctic blast when it makes contact with the northeast. It will make some type of hybrid Noreaster-Tropical storm mixture, and it could be very serious for those in the Northeast. Being a New Englander, I am also in the line of sight of Sandy, so just today I took everything in from outside.

Not really. I've lived in New York City all my life so far and from observation, it's not unnatural to see hurricane-originated storms traveling up the East Coast from time to time.
The only oddball part is the strength of the hurricanes in this case... then again, Irene was kind of a dud.

I used to live in North Carolina.
You did? I live there too. South of Raleigh.

Ummm… there were 122 tornadoes in 2010 in Minnesota.

I live **somewhere** that's very much inland, and I've never been in a hurricane before, so I'm excited and scared.

Since I live in Florida, it's gone already. On Friday, every school in my county was cancelled, except the one I go to.
