Mercenaries - an upcoming project (need help)

Hey everyone
I am making a new project similar to Mercenaries :world in flames
there will be 4 factions with 4 different endings
I want there to be about four missions for each faction
What perspective should i make the game?

also if anyone wants to make any other sugestions, I am open  smile

i'm guessing side-scrolling or some kind of bird perspective
the idea has nice potential anyway

Thanks for the encouragement!
I am really between

A side scroller
    pros
-easy
-graphics look better
   cons
-No vehicles
-no way to have civilians (it would be awkward)

Birds eye
    pros
-better looking backround
-missions have more depth
   cons
-charachters will look like *
-harder to make


What do the people of scratch think?

This doesn't belong here. This forum is for showing off already made projects not telling people about them before they're even started. Bird's eye view won't look like * if you find a good spriter, and it's way easier. And in a scroller game, you could have civillians as part of the background.

it might take more time, but it would be more amusing, and better overall

Actually it would take less time than a scroller. I made a birdseye view type game in a couple minutes. The problems are backgrounds.

scroller is more interesting for the player, but birds eye is easier.
I'd accually want scroller!

Yeah but there'd also be very little things you could do with a scroller, while in a birds eye you can move up, down, left, and right. Tough choice...

okay, it will be an overhead view
does anyone else have any suggestions for gamplay?
so far we ar gonna have
-cars
-enemies (4factions)
-4 missions for each faction (16 missions)

what else can we have?/

You could have mini-levels, once you reach a certain point you have to do a mini-task or battle.

some simple powerups (e.g. health power up, weapon power up), different types of enemies ofc, some storyline, birds eye perspective, how about entering buildings?, + 4 fraction, 16 missions, and thats about it  tongue

Buildings would be hard
i am planning on a "merchent of Menace" shop for buying guns and others
I will definitly add different enemie types
