Channel: [removed by moderator]
Our channel is on 24/7 (but that might have to change during the night)
IRC stands for Internet Relay Chat, an online chat for the internet.
I decided to host my own IRC and created the #scratch server.
You can find the chat here: Removed
No password required! Once you get to that page, type in your user name, then in channels, enter #scratch. Then, you have to prove you are not a bot, and boom, you can instantly talk with me, and thousands of scratchers around the world.
Moderators, you might be like "Oh, it is a chat. No way." But don't worry, this is carefully moderated.
Mods, if you decide to close this, then okay.

This is going to get closed, but it is cool anyway.
And you aren't actually hosting it, freenode is.
Oh I know, but I am hosting a server, which is being hosted by freenode.

I believe we are allowing chats as long as they are moderated and follow the Scratch Community Guidelines. I checked your's out and didn't see any moderator though...so I'm not sure.
Also, it seemed to assign me an anonymous IP as I logged on. I would think it would be extremely difficult to moderate a site if you don't know who anybody is and can't do an IP block when necessary.

A suggestion, though... I had gone on once, and let me tell you, there was a pair of people with some pretty nasty usernames that came onto the chat.
If there's any way to apply a word filter to the chatroom, could you try to do that? Because these were some seriously no-good usernames that they had chosen. XP

But how are you moderating? You weren't on when I checked in (at least I didn't see you) - and you can't be on all the time. I didn't see any way to flag a comment for a moderator to review at a later time (and what good would that do anyway, since everybody is anonymous?). Apparently, there are already people choosing inappropriate nicknames and logging on as well. I'm afraid this isn't going to work out.
