I HAVE JUST REACHED 10,000 DOWNLOADS! Thank you guys, this has been a big accomplishment. Now how about 50,000? xD
10,041 downloads as of November 18, 2012! Didn't know this was such a popular font.
---
Anyone watch SpongeBob? You have to at least seen it once, right?
Anyways, one day a month ago I got bored. I decided to remake the font used in the cartoon.
This font is better than other SpongeBob fonts because
- This includes lowercase letters and numbers. Even other characters.
- Most characters are "official". I ripped them sort of indirectly from a really old SpongeBob game. Others (parentheses, at sign, tilde) I made myself.
- Well...look at it!
The main reason I'm excited is that I uploaded it to dafont on August 1st, thinking it wasn't going to be accepted for some reason. Oh it was. And trending, I guess. In the world of fonts at least.
Do you need an accurate SpongeBob font for whatever you're making?
Well... Here you go. By the way, it's called "Krabby Patty". (I think I was originally gonna call it Bikini Bottom, but I decided Krabby Patty sounds better.)
Want proof it's me? Look in the "Note of the author" section.
... It wasn't hard to make, but it wasn't easy either. In this project you'll learn how I made it.
This is part of the project notes on this project, which was made BY ME. I forgot to remove that part in the notes of the author section.
Also, above the big font preview, it says "Krabby Patty by Seil". That's me.
Finally, I would appreciate it and I think it would be kinda cool if this was near the top of the Things I’m Making and Creating forum for at least a while. Spread it around, make a project about it, link to this thread, post on other sites, your blog, your Facebook, your Twitter, make a YouTube video, do whatever! I really want this to get noticed (even though almost 10,000 people already have noticed it).
Enjoy. Oh, and Scratch on.

Oh, I think it's actually one line, but it's word wrapped. You can put as many things as you want on one line, and it will word wrap so it will turn one line into as many lines as you want.

9,043 downloads? What! This is amazing.
You guys are probably not ones who really download a lot of fonts, but it would be appreciated if I get more downloads on this font. It would be REALLY cool if this got 10,000 downloads! Lol. It's getting there...slowly.
This is one of my biggest accomplishments, and I like showing it off So this is sort of a bump/necropost, but I'm posting for a reason. I guess. If this is, well, I don't know, against the rules maybe, then tell me...

i think this should be moved into requests or things i'm making and creating. show and tell is for projects, not fonts.

This doesn't seem to fit any of the forums, really.
It fits here if I'm not mistaken.

Where do you have it up for download?

Yes, Show and Tell is for projects and I also have my project about the font in my original post. But I do agree with you--I think it would fit in Things I'm Making and Creating.
EDIT: Whoa, it already got moved. Lol

NOOOO triple post. Sorry.
Just wondering if a mod or someone could change the topic name to
"The SpongeBob SquarePants Unofficial but a little more Accurate Font". Thank you

Wow, that's impressive. How long did it take you to convert all the images from the game?
Looks like it's 9063 downloads now.

Wow! That's an amazing job! I hope you get 10,000 downloads!

Cool!
How do you create a font? Make several pictures, upload them to a .zip file, and upload that .zip file?

I'm not quite sure, it's been a while since I made the font. I think I used some kind of program to convert the images and that I think took probably 30 minutes to a couple hours (depending on whether I could just convert all the images at once or I had to convert each image separately.
But the hardest part of making the font was removing all the outlines from the images (You can see in the Scratch project that FontCreator traces around the outlines too). I had to do each image separately and this took a few days. Then putting the images in FontCreator was somewhat tedious. I had to do a lot of fine tuning and the font is still not perfect (the lowercase 'j' is most noticeable, I think it's too small). So the whole process of creating the font took maybe a week? I'm not sure. That's probably close.
I gave you more than you asked, but that's because I'm in the mood of typing... and to try to prove further to EVERYONE that this is actually my font.
Oh, and thanks for telling me about the new download count.

Well... that's for you to figure out. Sorry
You can find many tutorials online; I don't really feel like explaining how to exactly 'create' a font. And what I explained above kinda goes over the main process I went through, not really how to use software or how to really 'create' a font, but just the broad steps I took. Of course, my process works if you have images of each and every single character of the font (although I made some extra in FontCreator). I wouldn't be a good source on how to use font creation software; I've only made one font and it was mainly by importing images, not drawing the glyphs themselves (mostly). So yeah.
Sorry.
