They were treating it like a bad word. (g.a.y.) I know a lot of gay people and they are my friends. So it greatly hurts me.

they have nothing against them, it's just a (too) common use of this word

I don't have a problem with LGBT (lesbian gay bisexual transexual). But looking at the fifth definition, it could arise problems. So, I think they should turn it off for this word, but not for the rest of the curses.

We have the word "gay" banned on the main Scratch website as a means to discourage people from using it in an offensive manner (which is probably what's triggering the auto message in your case). But we're not going to take away that auto message since it helps to prevent other offensive language from being used on the Scratch website.

You're overcomplicating the situation - instead of responding and accidentally triggering the filter, just flag the bad comment and let the Scratch Team handle the situation.
