Synthetica is nothing short of brilliant.
The recording is crisp and it sounds like the soundtrack to the best sci-fi movie ever.
You'll be drawn in from the first track, Artificial Nocturne which, in my opinion is the most beautiful five minutes on the album. It's a perfect opening track and really captures Emily Haines' amazing voice. If you've heard Metric's previous album, Fantasies then prepare for something much more sophisticated. There's a lot more musical variety on this album too. There's the uplifting 'Clone' and then there's the dark anthem 'Dreams So Real'. The singles seem unimpressive however. There are two of them, Breathing Underwater and Youth Without Youth. Despite offering catchy beats and lyrics I thought there were a few more tracks that could've deserved singles.
If you enjoy indie rock such as The Killers or Coldplay there no doubt you'll find something you like here.
It's a shame Metric's so underground because with a bit of radio-airplay some of these songs could become major pop hits.

VERDICT- Fans of indie rock buy this album. You won't be dissapointed, there's plenty of variety and wonderful sound to be heard on this record
