Install/removable media question

One of our librarians is running a program in January where she'd like to make the Scratch software and another design package available for the teens on a group of our public computers. We'd obviously like to minimize the impact installing the software will have on these machines, and after investigating this I discovered that not only does Scratch appear to run from removable media post-install, but it also appears to run from CD as well. Our ideal scenario would be to have the software burned to CD for every station and run it that way, but I wanted to check with you to corroborate that Scratch will run from CD without any issues. Thanks much for any input.

Re: Install/removable media question

The main problem with running from CD is that the default location to save would not be writable.  If the teens are taught to save their work to a different location (such as a thumbdrive), there should be no problems.
