Is there any possible way to speed up Scratch?

As in, the program where you make projects, not the actual project itself. I'm making a 1s1s game, and there is serious lag when I click/drag on a block, I find it frustrating and inconvenient, is there any way to possibly speed up the program or cut out the lag through internal or external methods?

P.S

should this go in 'Questions about Scratch' or 'Help with Scripts'?

Try to close all other open applications. If that doesn't work, get more RAM.

Try breaking up you scripts.

It usually makes it go a lot faster

Well, since I don't think that there IS a help with Scratch, I guess it goes in Questions about Scratch.  tongue  You meant 'Help with Scripts', and it wouldn't go there.
