I get that few times, too, using a Windows XP. Usually you can go through the Task manager to open up the Scratch Window - alternatively, you can go through the list of processes and terminate the process for Scratch, thus force-closing the Scratch software. A good hard restart is in order.
The disappearing text bug becomes more common if you're running programs that require a lot of memory (running IE along with Scratch might have been the culprit here), or if your Scratch project has a lot of text in it already in some form (script comments, project notes, text in sprite costumes).

I've ran IE, Roblox, and Scratch at once. I had one comment, a shop, and a large script open at the time. Even then, it has never happened to me. Maybe it's just my computer, but I have a feeling Windows 7 is resistant to this. Or, I just have 4 gigs or RAM.

Hmmm. My sister and my computer have never gotten it. Both Windows 7. I have Celeron, my sis has i3. I've used Scratch on a Pentium XP. I've never experienced the bug. It may just be how big your projects are.

1.) There is NO such thing called "HP Windows"
2.) Maybe your computer is an HP-Brand PC with Windows installed in it.
So, Is it:
Windows 3.1
Windows 95
Windows 98
Windows 2000/ME
Windows XP
Windows Vista
Windows 7
Because, Theres nothing called HP Windows
To get the system info, Open "My Computer" then right click on any blank space and choose "Properties" then it should say whats the OS in there.
