Hi: I've no idea if this is my own ignorance or an actual problem ... I have downloaded Scratch from the website onto my Mac (OSX version 7) and dropped it into the applications folder ... so far, I can view projects but when I download the scripts to view them, I can't get them to open using Scratch: have I missed a step? I'm really only starting out here so I hope I'm using the correct terms. Thanks.

the most guaranteed way to do this is to drag the project (.sb) file onto the scratch application (Scratch 1.4.app or whatever you might have renamed it to). This should open the project.
another way is just to double click the project .sb file or right click>open with...>scratch 1.4

Thanks Kayybee. I did that and it worked. I had mistaken the means to do so for an illustration of how to do it and was looking everywhere for what was under my nose. Getting on way better now. Thanks for the gentle explanation. A
