Codeacademy

There is an old topic, but it's old, and closed  tongue

What's your username and what courses are you doing? Have you finished any?

I've done almost half of JS, and now I'm starting Ruby. There was an example of user input and it turned out quite funny  tongue

Code:

What's your first name?>
 justin
What's your last name?>
 yearight
What city are you from?>
 um... look at my ip
What state or province are you from?>
 now this is just creepy
Your name is Justin Yearight and you're from Um... look at my ip, NOW THIS IS JUST CREEPY!
==> nil
That's correct! Next Exercise: Prompting the User
>

My username there is jji7skyline btw  smile

Re: Codeacademy

I go there, I won't give out my username though. I do Python, after that JS, and then Ruby. What's funny is they added Ruby just recently, and I was always praying for it to be added.  tongue

Re: Codeacademy

Never really saw the point of Ruby. What is it good for?

I've taken some basic HTML, JS and Python courses without an account c:

Re: Codeacademy

Apparently it can be used for the web and stuff, as well as conventional coding? Not sure, I guess it's like JS, a multi-purpose scripting language.

My friend who introduced me to Scratch, he wrote a book about Ruby.

I'm IHeartGaming. I'm learning HTML/CSS on there. (See this thread for more information.)

BTW, it's spelled Codecademy (not Codeacademy).

Re: Codeacademy

I think being self-taught is better though, I'm self-taught HTML and CSS and have been complemented numerous times by highly respected people although they may not be aware of it  tongue

But Codecademy works too, it's easier but it takes more time.
