In my opinion, the Mac App Store (although set-up for mostly big developers) is a great feature of new Macs. The Mac App Store isn't very big yet, but there are a ton of really neat and helpful apps out.

Share links to apps that you like and think are exceptional.

1. Flutter (Free) - Use your hand to start/stop music (and you don't even have to have the window open!)

2. Window Tidy ($1.99) - Quickly controls your windows

3. Frank Deloupe ($0.99) - A classic, one-shortcut-away color picker that adds the color code to your clipboard, great for design development!

4. Kopypasta (Free) - Stores text you copy - ultra useful

5. Pixelmator ($29.99) - Excellent image creation/editing (Yes, at a price)

I prefer to use open source software. Virtually the only paid software I have is MS Office, and we only bought that for school.

Frank Deloupe doesn't need to take space at your dock, just rests up at the top bar and is activated by a simple shortcut, then displays a little magnifier and when you click, it automatically adds the color code to your clipboard.

How about:

Spaces+Mission Control > Window tidy

I would be able to live without Window tidy on my Mac, but it would be much harder to live with just Window tidy and no MC or Spaces.

$0.99 is a lot to pay for a little extra space on the dock tongue

How about:

I like a simple, customizable program more, and I'm willing to support a fellow developer for that.

Yeah. I did some graphic design work for someone a while ago and I needed Pixelmator for it, so it payed for itself (plus some good profit. big_smile ). Not sure if I'd just go buy it.
