Actually, my friend told me that the Mac Version had that feature.
i am the only one on my computer and i started minecraft yesterday
There is no "mac version". Minecraft is made in Java which only runs through the Java Virtual Machine. There are separate launchers for Minecraft though, but the game is exactly the same on Linux, the BSDs, Mac, and Windows (other than the fact that on Linux Mojang is using outdated LWJGL which you have to replace with updated ones every-time you update (which IMO is a fail)).

Ok, guys, you probably won't believe me, but I created a superflat world and made an ENORMOUS CASTLE. Ok, I mean big!!! It was made of nether brick (I was on creative, of course) and it was about 150 blocks long and wide. It took me two weeks to make, and I still wasn't able to finish it! Why am I saying everything in the past tense? BECAUSE THE COMPUTER CHRASHED, AND I LOST IT. Yeah, I understand if you don't believe me, but all I can say to you is, you're wrong, I'm telling the truth. I even took a screenshot, but I lost that in the crash, too.

It's really not hard to believe.

OMG
I just found TONNES of coal ore.
It must have been like 5 veins combined.
I mined all of it. I even had to use a second torch, that's how big it was.
I got 48 bits of coal from it.
I would take screenshots of the ores but they're all gone now!

uh no.
I downloaded it, and it says
USER NOT PREMIUM
and there's an option to play offline.
so you can't have servers. That's technically the way you pirate it.
You're using offline mode to play the game.
That implies that, at one point, someone had logged in with a premium account though.it's not my fault they added that feature
YOU'RE GONNA GET SCURVY!

I have it ON, but I want to turn it OFF when I finish it. Or I could just wait till 1.4 comes out and start from scratch. (Oh, how I want to capitalise that)You could use MCEdit to copy/paste it onto another world.
Just selecting it would be too hard. If anyone knows of a way to change the world settings, then that would be greatly appreciated.
Inner-topic bump...

It's not that rare that coal veins can be gigantic. I think my personal record is a stack and a half of coal

My brother plays Tekkit, and he has 2 houses, and is working on a really huge building nxt to it for all of his machines. (I think he has IndustrialCraft, BuildCraft, and RedPower as well) I really wish he'd play vanilla, as all those machines get a bit boring.

Tekkit's awesome though
And all those are parts of tekkit anyway

The mods are awesome, but so complicated.
Minecraft = upto a year of entertainment
Tekkit = Much longer

Has anyone found any Emeralds yet? I haven't been able to play Minecraft lately, so I haven't found much lately.

I haven't, but the only world I've done much mining in was made in 1.2.5. It's not really that useful anyway; you can make tons of easy emeralds by selling paper (expand and kill villagers who give you bad stuff until you get a librarian who buys paper).

I didn't mine in an extreme hills biome yet, but I have traded for emeralds a few times.
They're a bit useless

YUS. YUS. YUS. My awesome best friend and I just made a mineshaft. I think together we collected, like: a stack of redstone, no gold (yet), maybe a stack of iron, a few stacks of coal, and four diamonds. WE SHALL ENTER THE MINES AGAIN LATER TODAY > : D
Hehe. I always used to dream of having a server. I am now the proud owner and host of EpiKraft. We built a town... my brother built Chateau de Gateau... There's a market, and some mines, and... I have like fifteen cats... xD

Tekkit.
Ah, the memories of playing god...
Seriously. Get a mooshroom milker, and hook the output up to a condenser for diamonds.
Within a week of that project being done, both me and my little brother had full RM armor, and pretty much all the endgame weapons/other stuff.
Well, the dupe bug he discovered might have played a part.
