Try running it through a keyboard of some sort? They tend to have good quality MIDI.
I don't have one.

Draft (bad recording)
What do you think? I played it this afternoon on my piano.
EDIT: I desperately need a good name for it. I thought about "it all started with a dream" inspired by Paddle's sig on the 2.0 Alpha forums, but it sounded too... icky.

Thanks!

Good idea for a name? I always find that the hardest bit. I once sent my piano teacher a piece titled "untitled" due to sheer frustration. He understood my situation.

Great, sounds good.

Yeah, naming is hard. I often name things "Untitled 2" or something.
Maybe, "The Secret of the Nameless Sonata"

That is pure awesomeness!
It just needs to be recorded on something that isn't a 90s cellphone, and you are good to go.

ikr. Currently in my TuxGuitar folder:
"arpeggios in D"
"lol ideas"
"thing in C#m"
"thing lol"
That recording of yours sounds pretty good too, ignoring the quality Pretty ambient-ish - maybe due to room reverberation.

Brand-new MacBook Pro running Garageband?
I admittedly had it right next to the piano, and set compression to really low because I didn't want to hog the internet. It was 56MB as an uncompressed .aif

The microphone is more important. The built in microphone on MBP is fine for voice chatting but not really suited for recording.
I think it seems a little too sustained btw. Might want to fix that.
@techno: So I'm not the only one who uses Tux Guitar

TuxGuitar is aaaawesome. All it needs to be perfect is a Guitar Pro-esque "let ring" feature, and maybe built-in soundfont support. Kinda wish TuxGuitar was open source, perhaps development would be way faster that way.
So the quality of the recording could've been fine but you decided to compress it a lot? Hmm. A 2 min. 8 MB~ file shouldn't sound that bad.
