There are much more effective ways to protect files on a PC than something like Time Machine.
Saving every single file is a pretty big waste of space to have. Every single one isn't hyper important! I've got a simple backup program that I can specify what sections/folders I want backed up.
Coupled with any sort of capable free anti-malware system, my computer's pretty darn safe.Uh...
It's really not that hard to save a picture.

Do you find the actual virus distributor in Skype itself?
My dad uses Skype sometimes, I'd like to warn him about it.
it's not part of the code
it's a virus
if your dad uses it for meetings or video calling he won't click something saying 'lol is this your profile pic goo.gl/whatever'

Is your signature meant to be a reference to that one thing in the Sims 3? Where you can troll on a forum and it'll say someone responded disagreeing and he apparently has a Phd in that subject, can't really remember it.

I have Skype but haven't got that message.
Lets not brag about something that people think doesn't effect Macintosh's but ignores the fact that it does.

one day youre going to get a virus that way and feel really silly about your decisions
Until then... this is da life!
Wow, LOL, that pretty much defines the Apple fanboy attitude. First of all, Skype is exactly the same on Mac as it is on Windows and Linux flavours. Second, remember MacDefender, Flashback, or the iOS all-IAPs-are-free crack? Those are just the ones I've recently read about. And I'll shut myself up before I start ranting about- ow- hey!- get off my keyboard- [removed by Apple because we suck and need to keep up our reputation through advertising and shutting down research sites]

They actually do remove threads containing problems from their forums.

Only partly. There are currently no viruses in existence that can get into my Mac.

Should I report this to have the title changed to "Mac virus thread"?
Anyway, this is getting a bit off-topic, IMO. The thread was about the Skype virus.

We're still on topic, since we're discussing how this virus doesn't affect Macs

If that's true...
Anyway, if you actually got pass the virus download part, I'm pretty sure it will just be a blank page.

I know there have been viruses in the past, but currently, my Mac's all patched. Also, the only reason I have a scanner on my Mac, is so I don't pass on infected files to PC users

People are still writing viruses, it's just that they want to attack the 90-or-so% of people who use Windows rather than the about 8% of people who use Macs.

I feel sorry for you mac people, you have too much confidence in apple. I have half a mind to write my own virus for mac. (Just kidding )
But anyway, if mac doesn't get any viruses why are there so many ant-virus programs for it?
(Just something to think about)

Actually, I was getting antivirus for my Mac and it took me a while to find anything.
