Saving every single file is a pretty big waste of space to have. Every single one isn't hyper important! I've got a simple backup program that I can specify what sections/folders I want backed up.

Only partly. There are currently no viruses in existence that can get into my Mac.

...then it turned into a long thread about how people think Macs don't get viruses (although I can say first-hand that is false, I'm glad I have antivirus on my Mac).

I know there have been viruses in the past, but currently, my Mac's all patched. Also, the only reason I have a scanner on my Mac, is so I don't pass on infected files to PC users

People are still writing viruses, it's just that they want to attack the 90-or-so% of people who use Windows rather than the about 8% of people who use Macs.

Actually, I was getting antivirus for my Mac and it took me a while to find anything.
