Bugs in Scratch on Raspberry Pi

I'm new to Scratch and this forum.

I am running Scratch on a Raspberry Pi (standard recommended distribution).  Along with a few other users on the Raspberry Pi 'official' forum, I'm tracking a handful of bugs in Scratch some of which appear to be specific to the Pi or its operating system - is it appropriate to post details here?

I'm just trying to get some expert help, but not sure which is the best place to turn...

Yes, this is the right place to give/get details about Scratch glitches. Why else would this forum be called "Bugs and Glitches"?  wink

Re: Bugs in Scratch on Raspberry Pi

Thanks - the first bug I was going to report has actually already been reported (not just for Raspberry Pi, but Linux in general)   here

However, I have a found a 'workaround' which may help some people, and may also help identify the bug itself, so I have added that information there too.

(If the link above doesn't work - I'm a New Scratcher! - the post was originally by Schroedingers_hat on 2012-09-19 at 00:00:46, titled 'key __ pressed ? bug'

Re: Bugs in Scratch on Raspberry Pi

Is there any way to get bugs officially reported and tracked so we can see if/when they are fixed?  I've reported details of a couple of bugs (specific to the Raspberry Pi in one case, and Linux in general in the other) here, but no progress since.  I know it's all voluntary effort, so I'm not expecting immediate response, but I do wonder if these bug reports are getting seen by the people who can help.

Yes, you can create a topic in the Bugs and Glitches forum to report a bug, though there really isn't a system in scratch to "track" a bug, other than a ST member [sometimes] saying that they've fixed a bug. And yes, the bug reports are being seen, though not always immediately after a topic is created.
