Well guys, here it is: creepypasta cliches that just annoy the heck out of me.
- "I know you aren't gonna believe this" or "This isn't just lame creepypasta" or "This seriously happened". NEVER EVER open a creepypasta this way.
- Using "666" or "13".
- The game knows your real name even though you never told it.
- If I had a nickel for EVERY TIME I've read a lost episode pasta that starts out with "I was an intern".
- Music in the game causing kids to go insane.
- Creepy sounds in the game.
- Haunted cartridges.
- Weird old man selling you this game/tape for free.
- Pokemon that want to get revenge after you haven't played the game for years.
- LAVENDER. TOWN.
- TV Show theories that says the characters are either in a coma or they're schizophrenic--pretty much that the whole show is their imagination.
- "You're next." Geez, BE ORIGINAL.
And last and DEFINITELY LEAST...
- HYPER-REALISM. Now, I first saw this term in Squidward's Suicide. It's most common in lost episodes and video game pastas. "Hyper realistic eyes!" "Hyper realistic graphics!" "Hyper realistic blood!" "Hyper realistic--" ALL RIGHT ALREADY.
But yeah, there's my list of my most hated creepypasta cliches.
Me too. Although there might be one (I actually mean literally 1, keep reading while I tell myself to stop apologizing for problems that were caused by apologizing for them) good story of some sort, whether fictional or nonfictional, for each of those. For example, there are more fantasy books than I can count that just spit out random names and languages; they were probably based around what started with the Lord of the Rings, in which there are a lot of random names that get spat out, but the author actually has those things, and wrote chapters, books, and backstories about them. Lord of the Rings volume 3, chapter (I forget) : 'was Beren scared when he stole the silmaril from Morgoth?' The Silmarillion (the prequel) : about how a guy made gems called 'silmarils' that got stolen by Morgoth, and were then stolen back by another guy named Beren.

How much, do you reckon, creepypasta is actually scary? I've never come across a creepypasta that made me lose sleep. My favourite creepypastas are, in order, Jeff the Killer (Yeah, I know, I'm thinking of rewriting it to be, well, better), Squidward's Suicide, and The Expressionless.

I don't read many creepypastas, but they aren't ever overly scary.

Really, creepypasta wasn't meant to be scary, just unnerving. The closest I've seen to a scary creepypasta was Genetic Memory, and even then the real terror comes from the resulting fridge horror. Actually, I'll post it since no one else did.
Many classic horror icons, such as Giger’s Xenomorphs, Silent Hill’s Pyramid Head, and other disturbing creatures, share common characteristics. Pale skin, dark, sunken eyes, elongated faces, sharp teeth, and the like. These images inspire horror and revulsion in many, and with good reason. The characteristics shared by these faces are imprinted in the human mind.
Many things frighten humans instinctively. The fear is natural, and does not need to be reinforced in order to terrify. The fears are species-wide, stemming from dark times in the past when lightning could mean the burning of your tree home, thunder could be the approaching gallops of a stampede, predators could hide in darkness, and heights could make poor footing lethal.
The question you have to ask yourself is this:
What happened, deep in the hidden eras before history began, that could effect the entire human race so evenly as to give the entire species a deep, instinctual, and lasting fear of pale beings with dark, sunken eyes, razor sharp teeth, and elongated faces?
… Just be careful out there.

I'm thinking maybe 5 to 7.5% of creepypasta is genuinely scary?

Does anyone think somebody should start a creepypasta Roleplay thread thing? As in a comedy-horror thing where people pretend to be a popular creepypasta creature, or would it be considered too inappropriate for the scratch website?

Yeah, I suppose. Although I'm not extremely familiar with a massive amount of pastas.

I hate all of these. But mainly 13 and 666.

Hmm... Considering the fact that here, it's 11.45 pm and I'm curled up in bed with an iPod in hand, perhaps it ISN'T the best idea to read creepypasta...

Ok guys, I'm about to set up a comedy-horror Roleplay, Paranoia.

That would actually be a decent rpg. I may join in.

Geesh, guys, Zalgo seems pretty scary, it got a Black rating on the creepypasta wiki...
That's because Zalgo is kind of the evil overlord of Creepypasta.

Well, the particular rating sounds like it came from the Pasta Journal Entries series of pictures. They're fake pages of a guide that shows a pasta monster and how dangerous it is. Black means you're doomed.

PARANOIA has been moved to the RPG forum (I didn't know of it's existence at the time) and is renamed as THEN A SKELETON POPPED OUT, after the infamous troll creepypasta.

No, that is a terrible idea for a creepypasta.

It's been written. I mean the creepypasta wiki page. Go look it up (I think it MAY be Jeff's-face-safe, just not fully certain). It's called 'Liu.'

It's been made. It's called "Liu", and it's actually a nice Pasta.
