Re: The Walruses - A Beatles Tribute Band on Scratch

I'm sorry I have not been active here lately because I've been working extremely hard on my solo album (not many know this yet) and on some work for Frozen Coco's upcoming album too. I've made good progress really, given the time I've been restricted to due to long vacationing and the above reasons. I may perhaps upload a pre-alpha mix of what I've done with both songs so far (needs a little touching up though) and no promises. But it is good to work with but unfortunately still is missing vocals.

Re: The Walruses - A Beatles Tribute Band on Scratch

I look forward to the solo album!  smile

Sorry about the vocals, but I don't think I'm really suited to George's songs.

I'd love to hear a pre-alpha mix :3

Why, thank you.  smile

I've been saving up on some of my best work for my solo album and this will obviously sound more polished when recorded by an individual and not a band, so it's a huge step-up from my work with Frozen Coco.

No prob about the vocals; there's absolutely no hurry. We can iron that out with a separate/existing band member later.

I will try my best to upload a polished version of my instrumental mix soon!

I, too, am really looking forward to your solo album.  big_smile  Will the style differ at all from Frozen Coco's work?

I will never dive into the mainstream style you find today; it will always remain ballad-sy or be upbeat rock songs and we all know there are several sub-genres that categorise under those. Since Frozen Coco is considered a rock band, it won't deviate too much from that style, but I will definitely explore new techniques and rhythms in the solo album.

You could say the chord progressions are more complex too, not just the classic four-chord structure for most songs.  smile

Great. I found an orchestral backing online a while back and it goes perfectly with the guitar except towards the end where it goes out of tempo.

Sorry, couldn't show the raw mix this weekend; maybe will do so during the course of this week.

Awesome. Looking forward to it, and I'm thrilled that we may be the first Scratch band to incorporate an orchestra.  big_smile

LOL, I'd better tell you that Frozen Coco has already covered that for an interesting, melodic song of mine so yeah. It will be released soon as a single too.  tongue

Re: The Walruses - A Beatles Tribute Band on Scratch

Listened to it. Sounds pretty decent. Definitely much better than the previous version. The "sun... sun... sun..." bit again is a bit flat, but I'll fix that when mixing. Thanks for taking the trouble to re-record!  smile

Re: The Walruses - A Beatles Tribute Band on Scratch

I don't celebrate birthdays, it's against my religion.

And it's the 9th of October here, no idea why it would be the 10th for you, since I'm ahead of you in time zones O.o
