Support for alternate Sound Input Devices?

I hope this isn't a duplicate.  I see several suggestions about internal sound editors, but nothing about using an external one.  I have Screaming Bee's Morphvox voice program.  I want to use it to give my sprites voices appropriate to the sprite.  But it seems that Scratch listens directly to the microphone instead of using the system sound settings.  I'm running WinXP with all patches, etc. current.  I've set my default sound input for the system to the Screaming Bee Audio driver.  I've tried setting the UseDirectSound setting in scratch.ini to 0, but that just turns the ability to record in Scratch off altogether.  No matter what I do, when I record my voice, even though the morphvox feedback lets me hear the morphed voice while recording, when I play back the sound recorded by Scratch, it is my natural voice instead.

Is there any way to configure Scratch to use the system input, or to specify an input driver besides whatever it is using?   If not, I strongly suggest adding the ability.  For one thing it be a reasonable and easy to implement solution to all the suggestions I see for adding an internal editor.

regards to all, Fyxen.

Re: Support for alternate Sound Input Devices?

Workaround for those of you interested in recording morphed voices:  It isn't too difficult to record your soundclips using a tool like Morphvox and then importing them into Scratch.
