Typing Long Notes causes Scratch to Malfunction.

I came across this the other day. I was getting annoyed when notes constantly became out of place as you make your project so I decided to put it all as one note. I was typing it up for 5 minutes then as soon as I click outside to finish the note all the text I just typed disappeared and turned into empty spaces a long with all text in the Scratch program. This includes the menu buttons and even in the game when someone had the say block. They just said empty spaces. The text only disappeared in Scratch and not in my OS so I expect this to be a bug in Scratch.

Yep, that's the "Disappearing Text" bug.  It's a know bug that seems to be related to large amounts of text...but we're not sure.

Were you using version 1.3.1?

Yes I was using 1.3.1 . It does seem to be related to large amounts of text. Kinda sucked as I had to exit and lose a lot of progress and wasted time writing it all up lol.

I'm hoping it is gone in 1.4...I haven't heard any reports of it showing up in the Release Candidate yet.  My fingers are crossed for luck  smile

The Scratch Team said they did nothing to remove it because they weren't able to find the cause of the bug. They dd say it was a bug inside the C code of the unicodepulgin.dll...

Well...that doesn't give me a warm-fuzzy feeling...

I can't figure out how to repeat the problem.

Well...I just had an incident with this problem on the 1.4 release candidate.  So it looks like it is still haunting us.  I'm running on Vista Home Premium.

oh yes i've had this problem before.  what you do is go on every sprite and open up the costumes containing text.  it should reappear.
