I'll join the platform one then. I'll also advertise this in my sig so we can get more people joining in. Give me a couple of minutes...

Don't forget bobbybee:

That could work quite well, particularly because I've just never done a 3D sword battle engine in Scratch. Perhaps I could attend that course...

OSes and maths would be cool, I'll make a new one called "basics" where the menu could go.
1. Please call it math, not maths. It confuses me.
2. I can do level changing w/costume changing and only BASIC OSes.eh, what's up with maths??? you can call it that
also, doesn't matter if you can only make a basic OS, I could add that to the basic course, however I think ErnieParke is doing that unless you're prepared to take it on as a completely different course. However, that means you'll ahev to teach both basic and advanced versions, otherwise we won;'t get enough people signing up to it.

I've never made an OS in my life so an OS class with me as the teacher would be interesting.
Anyway, the only OS related program that I've ever created was a shop in an RPG, where the menu has the same layout of a browser, and a draggable window which I'm currently using in City Tycoon II. Also, I already have a lot of sense of what's supposed to be in an OS, and how to make a good OS, so I could teach this class, but I would be doing it with almost no experience with making an actual OS.
Also, now that I think about it, I would like to add BBCode to my scratchblocks course.

Are you guys doing this as video? (sorry if this has been answered previously) - if it was then you could upload it to Youtube so further scratchers may benefit.

Me, I'm doing my course on a separate thread, but I don't know about the other courses.

well, we have a problem. You see, without students, I'm gonna have to change this from a school to a tutorial collection-collaboration where experienced scratchers come together to make a range of tutorials and videos rather than the original idea of having lessons and courses. Sorry to everyone looking forward to teaching courses, but I think the only way this will work is if we make tutorials and videos instead of running classes because we have too many teachers and like 2 students!
Could everyone please give feedback, and please suggest changes because I'm really not fond of the tutorial/video collection idea, but we don't seem to have a choice.

I was thinking that we should also create some tutorials in scratch projects because there are a lot of users who don't use the forums, so this would allow the tutorial to have a wider audience. Other than that, I see your point on why this will have to be changed.

How much work is a course going to be (for a teacher)? Depending on how much, I may teach one for you, preferably an advanced math/physics/computing course.
well we've already got someone covering the maths/physics one sorry. anything else? I'm sure there are loads of things not covered yet!
Can I teach a course on 3D in Scratch? We'll cover a wireframe and raycaster, and raytracer if we have time.
I'll do my course on a forum thread, where we discuss and I'll post regular "lecture" posts.

@Hardmath123 - Wow, I really want to see this! Even if it's not affiliated with Borrego6165's tutorials, it would be really cool!
Great, now all we need to find is someone who wants to learn.
Thanks, though.

I would definitely want to . I've kinda got the basics, but I'd definitely want to learn the whole thing.

Great! I suppose we could wait till we get a couple more people, then get started! Also, a friend of mine (on Scratch, not real life), boaz4, said he'd help out. I curated one of his 3D projects if you remember.
What all do you want to do? Wireframes? Filled shapes? Raycasters? Raytracers? Isometric?

If you like I could include my 3D Sword Battle engine as part of your course, but you'd have to learn how to use it if you wanna teach it. check my stuff page for it

Cool, so now we have zubblewu, bobbybee, and amcerbu (I think). When do you want to get started? I don't think I can do anything heavy-duty until the 13th (Saturday), my life's getting a bit too busy for my liking.

I know the feeling . And I'd probably want to do raycasting, ray tracing, wireframe, etc. Good luck with it

anyone can be students so don't worry you'll be accepted in all of them, it's teachers who have to organise things with me. also, you don't have to tell me either, I think I'll let people freely join rather than having people sign up IF i don't get enough students. i really don't know how to overcome this!

Be patient. you'll get students eventually.

I don't get the whole "maths" thing.
Can I teach about lists?

you can't really base an entire course on lists, but you can include it in your maths course! and it's really simple: maths is an abbreviation of mathematics, or arithmetic, the only difference is by one "s" on the end of it. It's like if someone got confused by Scratch Cats and we had to say Scratch Cat instead without the "s". I'm not mocking you by the way, I'm as confused as you are except by this 1 letter. Anyway, I'll be fair and let's all call it maths.
