"Sorry, you can't add or vote on suggestions yet...."

"Your Scratch account is still new, so you can't create or vote on new suggestions for Scratch yet.  Keep on making projects and leaving constructive comments! Meanwhile, you can join the conversation about suggestions in the Discussions about Suggestions Forum."

Why can't I vote for suggestions or create new suggestions on the suggestions site? Do my votes not count because I'm new? I understand the reason for restricting new users so much on the forums (I don't agree with some though) because of fear from the site being attacked or spammed, but what's the reason for this? Is there worry that "trolls" will vote up bad suggestions and vote down good ones? I honestly can't see the point of limiting new users this much.

Nor can I, but the ST must have a reason.

Who would win, SOPA or PIPA?

New users are often not that too familiar with the Scratch website, the goals behind Scratch, etc. It's usually better if they become acquainted with the Scratch website first before upvoting or downvoting a suggestion.

I think you have to have three projects to vote

Also, it's to prevent people from creating alternate accounts to vote.

That makes sense... although I think I should still be able to comment on them.

You also need to comment a bunch and be semi-active on the forums.

Why do you need to be active on the forums, in order to help make suggestions towards the scratch program, which is more main-site related?

You don't need to be active on the forums - just comment helpfully on the site, make at least a couple projects, and be patient.  smile

Can you downvote as suggestion?
