it's because the candidates don't reflect a party's general views exactly

Yeah, it's so messed up that LGBT doesn't have the same rights. That issue doesn't affect me at all (I don't like either boys or girls, some people think I don't even have a gender myself ), but I still think they should be treated equally.
It's very possible you're just too young, unless I've underestimated your age. But that is an actual sexual preference called asexuality.
Probably just too young, asexuality is very rare.

Illusionist, I don't know where you set "hyperinflation" at, but InflationData.com puts the current inflation rate at 1.69%, and the Fed usually will stop or slow its "Quantatative Easing" or money-printing measures once inflation goes over 2 or 3 perecnt... The inflation German experienced was the kind of inflation where it was cheaper to wallpaper a room with money, even million-mark notes, than wallpaper. I haven't seen that many rooms wallpapaered with money yet, have you?

What really gets me irked is when Republicans claim that Mr. Obama "got us into this huge federal debt" with "big government spending".
They then completely ignore the two unfunded wars and tax cuts instituted by the 43rd President that take up a far larger amount of the debt than the 44th's stimuli.
It seems to me as if they have selective amnesia when it comes to Republican big government spending, but cannot forget it when a Democrat spends anything at all.

And Democrat quotes !!
For some reason they all remember those
Do you mean why do people only remember Republican quotes? Maybe because Democrats don't say things that can be used against them unless they are taken way out if context. For example, a pro-Romney ad once had video of Obama saying "if we keep talking about the economy, we're going to lose," while completely ignoring the fact that Obama was quoting something that John McCain said. Blame Obama for McCain's quote.

This is certainly an interesting topic! I love to watch how the discussion goes. For many, at the average Scratcher age they are simply regurgitating their parent's words and haven't put much research into it. However, since many people cite their sources here it is very interesting.
I'm very excited for the debate on Wednesday, I'll be watching that.

No, because I don't really have to good answer other than I think it's wrong.

Also may I ask why you don't think global warming exists, don't support wind subsidies, yet don't support expanded drilling? Not because of your beliefs themselves, but it seems contradictory.

Mitt Romney and Paul Ryan call themselves "The Comeback Kids"
As in "come back in 4 years and try again"

Lol.
When you have a fire in an aircraft, there’s no place to go, exactly, there’s no — and you can’t find any oxygen from outside the aircraft to get in the aircraft, because the windows don’t open. I don’t know why they don’t do that. It’s a real problem.

First of all, I wasn't really taking this poll very seriously. (That answers your wind question)
Second of all, I never said global warming didn't exist. I said, "no". :p

I'll be watching it too, it'll be cool to see Obama and Romney battle it out.
I'm curious to see what good comebacks they come up with. :3

Wow.
Belief is important too, that's part of what people use to choose a candidate. Whether or not they share the same beliefs with the candidate depends heavily on their vote.

Um well if he's telling me a percentage of the population not allowed to have equal rights because he doesn't have his own opinion yet I'm going to mock him
