""There are 47 percent of the people who will vote for the president no matter what. All right, there are 47 percent who are with him, who are dependent upon government, who believe that they are victims, who believe the government has a responsibility to care for them, who believe that they are entitled to health care, to food, to housing, to you-name-it -- that that's an entitlement. And the government should give it to them. And they will vote for this president no matter what. ... These are people who pay no income tax. ... [M]y job is not to worry about those people. I'll never convince them they should take personal responsibility and care for their lives."" - Mitt Romney

Romney's parents were on welfare for a while.

"But there is a difference, even when just the word is the difference. And the difference is that, if you indicate as a society that you're indifferent between a same-* couple marrying and a heterosexual couple marrying, then it means our schools and other institutions are going to have to indicate that there is no difference whatsoever, and that obviously has societal consequences that are important."

i dont see any problem with having our social institutions saying theres no difference whatsoever
and i agree there will be consequences that are important
i think those will be positive consequences

I really hope your viewpoint changes when you grow up
Because not caring about how the world is going is basically not caring about yourselfWell, that‘s because I‘m still not an adult.
Of course I‘ll care when I grow up, but currently...
Ponies > Politics.just because you're a kid doesn't mean you're not a person (no matter what some establishments may have you believe)
i believe people should care about politics because it decides how the world is going and you still can make a difference by spreading your opinion
and i'm fairly certain that you can care about both my little pony and politics (and i'm not entirely sure how that's relevant)CN12 wrote:

ah yes the old out-of-context trick
taking words out of their context is just rude

I'll do my best and try to give some unbiased facts here:
*Obama did NOT create the woeful economy. He inherited it from George W. Bush.
*Obama DID, however spend about $800 billion in the stimulus package, and is now being questioned as to where the money truly went.
*In under 4 years in office, Obama has increased the federal deficit by over $5 trillion. In Bush's 8 years as president, he added a still ridiculous $4 trillion to the federal deficit.
*Obama bailed out General Motors and Chrysler using taxpayer money.
I will add that I am a Mitt Romney fan. I actually wanted Obama to win the 2008 election, as I believed what he said. However, he made promises saying stuff along the lines of "the unemployment won't go above 8%." It has been ABOVE 8% for a loooooooonnnnnnggggg time now. (I can't remember the original quote but it was something like that.)

Lol @ jukyter.
When Obama made that quote, he was talking about how no buisnessman makes everything their company needs to function happen. Government, through roads and education and the like, makes a base for buisnesses to grow upon. Without government, there would be buisness.
On the other hand, you can support the candidate who disavows 47% of the country, even though may of those people (soldiers, some of the elderly, poor but religious people) tend to vote his way...

That issue doesn't affect me at all (I don't like either boys or girls, some people think I don't even have a gender myself ), but I still think they should be treated equally.
Also, since corporations are people, does that mean that they can get drivers licenses at 16 years old, or vote at 18? No! Corporations ARE NOT PEOPLE!

corporations can "vote" at whatever age they like by giving money to campaigns, influencing the outcome of elections

Strong opinions, so no comment.
But I think I see who's won the Scratch community over. I think.

It's very possible you're just too young, unless I've underestimated your age. But that is an actual sexual preference called asexuality.
