CATPERSON made a duplicate of this which is running far better, and I feel that this isn't working so I'm going to make everyone redundant but thanks for co-operating, and I'm sure Catperson will find a place for you. It's just that no way could I improve on what they have accomplished with Scratch University, and they approached the idea from the right angle, compared to me who just could not cope. Sorry, this was a mess from the start and it's my fault, but I'm sure we'll all co-operate again at some point.

added a new course!
Super Platform Adventures
In this course you will learn about:
+Making cut-scenes that are more professional
+Enabling multi-player
+Multiple save slots and auto-save screens
+Still Platform Engine
+Scrolling Platform Engine with a moveable camera (enables the camera to look at an important area before heading back to the player among other things)
+Cool Boss Battles
+Improved Enemies (not just random shooters)
FOR HIGH-SCORE USERS ONLY:
+3D Sword Battle Engine

cool! how would that work? different scratchers run different ones? problem is we're goanna need rules to make sure each one is the same, because we don't want some offering little to know lessons or a teacher giving so much homework the students can't cope. Plus, they might not know that well what they are teaching, even though they thought they did.
I might have to make it where the teachers have to not only spread the word of this (seen as I've got no one signed up yet) and they'll have to (secretly) send a full itinary of what and how they are going to teach their subject.

What a great idea- more experienced scratchers passing on knowledge to less experienced scratchers by actually giving them a course. I think this will make the Community more like a community. Good descriptions for courses as well- I am not a bad scratcher and help a lot of other people with scripts but these all sound very good they way you've described them and i have to say i'm tempted by the Super Platform Adventures course- i never have been able to work out how to do a proper moving background

go for it! I NEED STUDENTS!!!

I can teach a course sort of like Platforming, but one that geared towards more advanced users. (a prerequesite would be basic platforming)

*cough*menus/OSes/math stuff*cough*

problem is I'm teaching the adventure course, otherwise I'd have to give you a course on 3D sword battle engines before you could teach the main course!

OSes and maths would be cool, I'll make a new one called "basics" where the menu could go.

Why is the adventure course related? Also, I just got this idea for a course (*cough*I wanna teach this one*cough*):
Role-Playing Games: The genre of this era.
In the course, you would learn about how to make RPG-style engines. For instance, it would go over math on how you would compute magic and attack-defense type things. It could also briefly go over math behind pathfinding and AI (a.k.a. making the enemies smart).

just so you know, there is a course for adventure games which includes platforms ectetera, perhaps you'd like to teach that (and include stuff on rpgs) and I'll take over for the 3D sword battle engines, like when classes have multiple teachers

That could work quite well, particularly because I've just never done a 3D sword battle engine in Scratch. Perhaps I could attend that course...

kinda like Codeacadamy for scratch?

EVERYONE'S ANSWERS ARE (OR SHOULD) BE IN THIS COMMENT:
depending on how many teachers and students will affect how this will work. You see, if I get only a couple of teachers, then there is no point running a "school" with different lessons and such. Also, there's no point us just making a load of video tutorials because they already exist in text form, and I doubt scratchers will learn anything new. Really the whole point was for me to teach other scratchers the cool things I've learnt, hence why the original courses oriented more around what I had done such as the G:4001 building engine and the Script Efficiency I use for every project of mine.
So, basically the whole point of this was for me (and other scratchers of course) to teach things which they had learnt from scratch and to spread the word of these things, rather than just explaining how scratch works. If scratchers need help there are loads of tutorials and wiki pages out there, this is to enhance these ideas further, and provide unique and more personal tips from each teacher which they created themselves, for example I created an automatic layer shuffling system which I was gonna include in the Script Efficiency course.

Since I often find people post scratch blocks that look like:
when gy clicked forever endAnd:
when I recieve pie repeat [20]I was wondering if I could become a teacher in your "school" and help teach people with their scratch blocks. So can I or …?

If you're having multiple teachers I could help you with the platformer one, and you should add something for math. Also, what about something for things like pen and stamp? Maybe even just one for physics? (any kind like platformer, cannon, collisions with water, whatever). It could also have things like slope detection.

I've added a couple more, Ernie Parke can talk about scratch blocks in the Basics course, and Zubblewu can talk about maths in the Maths & Physics course. So you are both teachers! Please tell me what else you would like to teach in each lesson!

Nothing seeing that you're already covering a lot of subjects.

How much work is a course going to be (for a teacher)? Depending on how much, I may teach one for you, preferably an advanced math/physics/computing course.

OSes and maths would be cool, I'll make a new one called "basics" where the menu could go.
1. Please call it math, not maths. It confuses me.
2. I can do level changing w/costume changing and only BASIC OSes.

eh, what's up with maths??? you can call it that
also, doesn't matter if you can only make a basic OS, I could add that to the basic course, however I think ErnieParke is doing that unless you're prepared to take it on as a completely different course. However, that means you'll ahev to teach both basic and advanced versions, otherwise we won;'t get enough people signing up to it.
Saying that, I don't think we have any students on anything, so I might have to pull the plug on the whole thing if no one actually joins
