Are we allowed to put religious messages or Bible quotes into projects? I read somewhere that there was no religion or political discussion allowed on the website, but I find religious projects almost every day. Am I allowed to upload religious (or even political) projects to the site?

It depends. If it is overly religious or is offensive to a religion, then no, you aren't, but if if the project contains small traces of religion, then it's aloud on the scratch website. About political projects, I'm unsure what the rules are for them. You'll just have to wait for another scratcher to come along and answer the second part of your question.

You can actually make an entire project about religion
It just can't consist of just you shoving your opinions down others' throats and saying why they should become a certain religion, it has to be unbiased

Oh, that helps to clear some things up!

you are allowed to express your religion / political opinion so long as it doesn't blatantly offend or discriminate against anyone

No, we don't allow religion or political discussions on the forums since the forums are not the best place for this.
Religious and political project are allowed so long as it doesn't force those belief on anyone else like RedRocker227 said earlier. For example, a chain projects that invites people to sign if they believe in a certain religion is okay because it doesn't push other to believe in that certain religion; a chain project that invites other people to sign if they believe a certain religion is wrong would not be okay because it would attack others.

It's all good, the rule is that you can't post religious topics and discussions on the forums.

Has this rule been changed now? I'm asking because of the topic about the Presidential Elections.

Some of the Scratch Team members decided to see how it goes in RaP for now (every once in a while a topic comes up that hits a grey area. That happens to be one of them ). If it's gets too much of a hassle, though, it might get closed.

Would that be politics only or religion as well? I've seen traces of religious discussion in that topic...
Both, really (although, for that particular thread, the traces of religion in that topic might be a problem as it could be a sign of off-topicness).

no, it doesnt fit into any of the categories.
however you could probably make a project about religion and advertise it in show and tell, or discuss the Bible or the Qur'an, or any holy text in the "things im reading and playing"

It depends. A topic about religion in itself is unlikely to fit well since it doesn't fit anywhere. We did have one thread about the Bible in RaP (again, a grey thread), but that ended up getting closed in the end for certain reasons. What kind of topic subject do you have in mind?

The discussion ended up shifting towards a more prosthelytizing direction, which wasn't okay (it's usually seen as provocative). I'd probably stay away from posting a Bible thread for now since the incident happened a couple of months ago.

But you allow the "2012 presidential election" thread...

I think that the reason why that was kept and not closed was because people had promised to not start a flame war. Also, if I'm correct, they promised just to say the facts, not opinions.

Just like the Kony topic I started. It got over 200 replies in less than one night. The scratch team said that parts of the video might not be appropriate, but they will let the topic slide and see how it goes. But it got out of hand fast, two users (who shall remain nameless) started to fight if Kony was real, or not. They got into a big fight and the topic had to be closed.
