Gimping Cars.

Taking stock images of cars, then modifying them. Does anyone else do this? I enjoy doing it. I use Gimp, but others use Photoshop or other software. Here's one I finished today.

Re: Gimping Cars.

Looks awesome! I can appreciate the design of cars, but they don't really appeal much to me; I wouldn't choose to buy a fancy car.

Re: Gimping Cars.

I actually don't like fancy cars much either. My first car is going to be this one. It's costs a few thousand dollars in Australia used, so it's pretty cheap.

I know people who's first cars are new. I prefer used cars, since they're better value for money. Plus old cars are better.

Definitely. I wouldn't dream of buying a new car whether it's my first or not. Unless it's an incredible deal.

I would buy a new Toyota, they're actually better than the old ones and they are great value.

I haven't tried it, but yours is cool!

Use the bump distorter and the polarizer. You should get BoltBait's plugin pack.

That's nice, but I think you should add lights and maybe more movement.  smile

Re: Gimping Cars.

I think the window highlights could do with some refining, but otherwise, that is an awesome gimped car. I absolutely love the headlights  big_smile  (how did you do them?)

"Lens flare" in Light and Shadow.

I usually use the gradient flare... but I'll try the lens flare next time  smile

It'll work great as long as you make sure your whole image is on 1 layer, then duplicate it and add the flares to the duplicate, and set the layer mode to something like "Burn" or "Screen", then play around with opacity.  smile

In PaintDotNet it's called "Dent" and "Polar Inversion"

Re: Gimping Cars.

Never had tried it before, so I decided to try it on my favorite car ever: the Corvette ZR1.
I think it turned out pretty good!

Re: Gimping Cars.

Nice mods! Is that a custom background? Also, if you're using Gimp to blur/spin the wheels, try changing the center of blurring (while using Filters > Blur > Motion Blur > Radial), so that it's at the centre of the wheel  smile

Unless you put the wheel into another layer, I don't see how that's possible because it tries to add the blur to the whole picture, not just the wheel.
