Bugs: stamp block not working

Dear Scratch,
        The stamp block is not working for my mom's Windows computer in scratch 1.4. Here is my script:

When I recieve [fire chain]
show
repeat [20]
        stamp
        change x by [10]

Are you sure the fire chain broadcast is being sent? Are you sure the sprite is where you want it? Is the sprite the right size?

Also, are there any sprites in front of the background?
