Psy said he never expected any of his songs to be recognized outside of his country. Why do you think this song--which he only made because he wanted to do something exciting--became so popular in other countries (I don't know where else it's popular)?

Because it has a funny video, a catchy beat, and some pretty weird (but pretty good) dance moves. In other words, it's wacky in a cool kind of way.

I saw it first on Saturday Night Live last week, the at my school's pep rally they played it as well. It is weird, but compared to American acts like Lady Gaga it seems normal.
