It's the most redundant and annoying system that could possibly exist, when you try and name a costume, if there was a costume named that, it'll add a number to the end, this can be very frustrating when trying to use grid numbered costumes.

This is quite possibly Scratch's most annoying feature to me, but it serves a purpose, which is to prevent a situation where two costumes share a name. If a "switch to costume" block had two costumes with the input value, which would it switch to?

scratch should have a notification pop up for duplicate names. but the problem is it renames things that aren't duplicate names
