Bats aren't spawned by witches
Witches throw splash potions at youI don't even know anymore.
I've watched loads of videos on it, all of them showing bats surrounding witches.Probably because both are out in the latest snapshot?? Just a guess
It'd be helpful if they actually said something about it instead of "Bats, witches".
Although BdoubleO's series has been pretty good, and showed them separately.

Minecraft devs really needs to stop pushing out additions so much. Minecraft has never felt like a refined experience, but more like something fun with constant coding experiments being thrown in.
Glitches that have been around since I've played Alpha are getting no progress on being fixed. If they started releasing only bugfix snapshots, then one big "perfect" (yes, i know, impossible in game-making, but as close to glitch-free as possible at least) update they would have a better base for future updates with additions.
Fixing the lack of sounds seems like a good start, but not witches and bats and withers and huts or whatever OH MY!

And each new feature brings a whole collection of new bugs, some completely unrelated to the feature. Changelogs always seem to have a longer section of new bugs than fixed ones.

Exactly. As long as we have all the MAJOR bugs that have been so pesky for quite a while now ironed out, Mojang has a more stable base to release new additions. The new bugs then would be easier to iron out because they wouldn't be accumulating on an already massive buglist.

i once dreamt that there were pirates in minecraft but it was like really messed up and stuff so yeah

There was a big bugfix update, that fixed like 10 bugs.
There's still loads of bugs, and how they start off is "Mojang's apparently fixing this in the next update" then you forget about it and only when you think of it again you remember how far back it goes.

I just got 19th in a survival games server by falling into a 1x1x1 hole with a cobweb in it at the very beginning and being ignored by everyone until I finally managed to escape it and was killed by someone who had time to gather resources.

I think that bats really need to spawn less often. They're all over my stuff.
As soon as I heard that they spawn anywhere dark I thought "That's going to get annoying"
Yeah, I could light it all up, but I'd have floating glowstone in bigger buildings.

They probably just spawn loads since most of the people downloading the snapshot will want to see them, and Jeb and DB are making it easy.

Spawn eggs.
I don't see witches spawning in my toilet or the wither spawning in my closet, I can just use spawn eggs.

Normally, if I were to look at the new snapshot, the only thing I'd care about would be the witches and bats. (My dream mob, added!) But honestly, I'm really enjoying the new sounds. I'm surprised at how big a difference it makes when you jump in the water and hear that deep, fresh, and oh-so-crisp splashing sound.

The one thing that really annoyed me is how 1.3 was supposed to be the first step to an innovative new engine for multiplayer gaming, and yet it caused way more problems than i had since I even started MC. But to be fair, MC has always done a good job of balancing glitch fixing and new content, it's just 1.4 seems to really be stacking heavy on the content part.

1.3 has been one of the worst updates ever in terms of "i can't even play this because of the bugs"
My loading screens when I join servers or load up worlds . . . is non-existent. I don't see a green bar or text, I either see the selection menu (frozen mouse while it works) or the loading screen but without the green bar or text.
In Alpha, IMO, several bugs were just sort of excepted and actually enhanced gameplay in some areas. Boosters and endless waterslides and the like

That's what I don't get, alpha, beta, etc. are just "you know, it's been a while, let's say the game's in beta", it's the full release and I expect a little better than a 4 second delay after opening my inventory.

Would all of you stop whining about glitches? Yes, Minecraft can be pretty unrefined at times, but it's a vast, limitless game, and a bright star in the greater gaming sky. I think we might be getting a little spoiled, expecting perfection from a team of 17 or so people who have their hands full with three games and numerous conventions.
