You aren't ever "ready" to become a Scratcher, you just become one. Asking for it won't really help that cause.

yeah, people might find you annoying and the proccess will be slower. Comment on other's project constructively to speed it up.

you dont have to ask, its an automatic process
if youre active enough on the main site and/or forums you become a "scratcher"
