I thought it could've been a bad attempt to break the whole "RD is a lesbian" thing that's been going around for so long, but it still seemed weird.

Eh, Rarity is the only one confirmed to be straight, I don't really see any reason to confirm RD for not being a lesbian, it's best left to fanon because then it's down to personal taste.
