So what makes Scratch better than Flash 8?

Hey relatively new guy here, and I have a question...

So what makes Scratch better to design with than Flash 8?

Well, scratch is easier for beginners, and that is it.

Flash 8 beats scratch in everything else by a lot.

i agree with archmage, scratch is used as an introduction to programming not as a language for making "better" games

Re: So what makes Scratch better than Flash 8?

If I am confident in my abilities in scratch, is there a logical next step in programming I could take?

Anything I would be able to figure out without taking classes and no prior programming experience except for scratch...?

personally i would go with flash but there are other simpler things, ie/ starlogo.tng which is similar to scratch but in 3d  from what i've seen thought its pretty limited
