Melodica

I am making a music game that has over 300 sprites and will have about 1500scripts. It is based off of an ipod touch game. What you do in the game is click on squares to make music. It is a really fun game so I am bringing it to scratch. I hope when I release it you will like it.

I will take any suggestions that you give me.

Features:
Save up to 3 songs.
Load.
tempo for each line?
set the instrument for each line?
any others, please suggest.

?= possible.

I planned to make this game simple but it is turning out to be somewhat complex. It will take longer than I thought it will. I will still try to finish it by the next week.

Notes: SInce Scratch is so slow and it takes awhile to process all of the scripts I have to spend a day or so optimizing the game to make it play full speed.

I am sort of copying the sprites but each sprite has a different location and plays a different sound. The game is simple but complex.

Re: Melodica

I just checked it out http://www.scratch.mit.edu/ext/youtube/?v=wVZMaXMNz-0

It seems pretty simple but it will take a while to set all the squares.

I am trying to make it like that. The graphics are different but the squares take forever to set up. I spent an hour just adding one script to all of the squares just to set the position of them. I have to add 8 more scripts and change numbers in the scripts for all of the 285 squares. It is going to be a fun game but it is just very time consuming.

It really isn't that big. It just has a lot of sprites and with 8 scripts a sprite that totals up if you have about 300 sprites.

Re: Melodica

Due to some lack of thinking when I was adding my save feature and I got something in the mail the game will be delayed some.

A book about Objective-C that I am reading so I can program for the Iphone and Mac OS X. It is really good and it is over 600 pages. I am still working on the game though. I am fixing some errors with the save and load system. I will continue with making more and more squares operational once I finish making some fixes to the save and load system.

Re: Melodica

if anybody wants I can edit out the save and load system and put it in a later version so  you could play Melodica sooner. I don't know when it would be done if I did that.

Re: Melodica

Keep the save and load feature, release it when it's complete lol. Won't be fun playing an uncomplete version.

Ok thanks and yeah it sort of would be complete it just wouldn't have the option to save and load.

To Everyone: Should I have options and what options should I have??? Please respond soon so I can make changes without setting up all of the 285 squares and then have to go back over all them again to fix it.
