the truth about chocolate milk...

heh, heh heh. chocolate milk; a tasty, healthy drink? think again. to start with,

ALL milk is made from blood. however, when cows are milked, they use a machine. this gives the cows mastitis, an infection in the cow's udders. they can therefor bleed, which means milk also contains PUSS as well as blood.
if the udders bleed a lot, the milk can be pink, so the milk company sell it to companies like tesco, asda, ECT. ECT. they then make it into chocolate milk.
i am a vegan because dairy farming is cruel and so is chicken egg farming!

Re: the truth about chocolate milk...

Quality control makes sure that any cow that is bleeding will have its milk tracked down so they can make sure it doesn't make it to the shops, and the blood can be dangerous because it can contain a number of diseases if the cow was bleeding in the first place, so it's not sold to anyone and it's just disposed of.

And cows want to be milked, most cows aren't even forced, they just go into the milking barn and the machine hooks up and milks the cow, then the cow can go about its day without feeling full. There's a massive difference between forcing 30 chickens into a 1x1 cage and having a 30 acre field for a few hundred chickens, not all farms are cruel to the animals.

YES THEY ARE. even if the chickens have a massive field, there are SO MANY chickens in the barn, not all of them can get to their field. and in cow milk farms, this is what they do:

they breed the cows and wait for them to give birth. then they take the calf away and slaughter it. (the baby cow is a too skinnier breed for meat, so they throw to body away.)
the mother cow cries for her lost baby (FACT) then they milk it until she stops making milk anymore. cows can live for up to FIFTEEN YEARS. cows in farms only live to be three because of exhaustion. and in most farms. they are kept in stalls. and have NO acces to fields.

Re: the truth about chocolate milk...

FACT. Chickens are kept in coops, a 5 meter one can hold 20 chickens without cramming them, they have room to move and they can easily get out.

FALSE. Cows don't "cry for their lost baby", animals don't have the same attachment to babies as humans do, if the calf goes missing the cow won't instantly know it's going to die.

FALSE. Calves are never slaughtered, unless they're diseased. They have no meat on them at all and their leather can hardly make a shoe.

Stop saying that all farms are the same, they're not. I grew up on a farm where animals were treated correctly, we don't strive to make the cow's life horrible, their deaths are secluded and instant and they live a happy life. If all cows were wild they'd be treated much worse by predators, there's no "predators for ethical treatment of animals" you know, as soon as that calf is in the world it can be ripped to little pieces. Yes, there's farms that mistreat animals, they're slowly dying out as it becomes illegal and consumers go for the free range stuff. If I based my life off the extremes of everything I wouldn't be able to eat or drink anything, plants are sprayed with chemicals, animals are mistreated, water is diseased, the air is polluted, it's always something.

i meant big farms. little ones like my aunts one aren't cruel. she doesn't eat the chickens when they stop laying. she keeps them as pets and uses the eggs for her bed-and-breakfast. and battery farms are cruel. and the cows to cry for their dead baby. i read it on loads of websites and in books!

Re: the truth about chocolate milk...

I read that there's a sparkling vampire called Edward and a soppy girl called Bella in a book once, therefore cows can't feel pain because Edward bit them and they became vampires, I read it in a book so it's true.

And big farms are even better, they have more space so they can treat the animals so much better, battery farms ARE cruel, but big farms aren't battery farms, it doesn't really matter about the size of the farm because the owner will treat the animal as he sees fit, he could have a massive farm and still have battery chickens, not every farm should be judged based off the worst.

oh come on, you know what i mean. i read in a FACTUAL BOOK, not a fairy tale.
AND a big farm CAN mean: the person running it is greedy = they run it cheaply = cruelty to the animals.

plus, here are alternatives to milk: rice-milk, hemp-milk, soya-milk, AND NOT FORGETTING almond-milk!

Plants don't have flesh, our teeth are made to tear through flesh, cows don't eat flesh, their teeth are made for eating grass.

Where are you getting these facts? They don't really match up with basic science.

That's where you're wrong. "Basic science" is basically where they lie to people for marketing.  hmm  We were designed to be herbivores.

So, er, we're meant to bite people to death?

How comes that humans need pills to be healthy when they don't eat meat? Did evolution give us the ability to make pills so we didn't have to eat meat anymore?

No.

It's because of our diets. All of the good stuff in meat can be found throughout nature, in fruits and veggies.

I'm pretty sure we'd have to be exploring for weeks and weeks to find all the plants we need to give up meat completely, and even then there's some that'd be limited to a single island, if we were made to completely eat plants we'd only need to eat a certain type of plant. How comes horses can get so healthy off grass but for a human to be vegetarian they'd need to eat loads more and have exotic plants?

well, a horse is designed to eat grass. we are designed eat plants like fruit (blackberries, appleas ECT) plus, my mum has made soup out of nettles! its really nice! so you can rid your garden of nettles and have a tasty soup!!

Also I'd like to add that basic science has some logic to it, being able to rip of flesh with our front teeth probably means we were made to eat meat, what do animals do after killing another animal? Eat it.

And how comes we can work off meat so well? If a horse or a cow eats meat it becomes barbaric and starts killing other animals, I've never seen a police crew show up because someone at Macdonald's went mad.

We were made to eat meat and plants, we've been eating both for hundreds and thousands of years and there hasn't been a single hitch, treatment of animals IS getting better so in a few years farms will be completely humane and hopefully there will not be any more people trying to stop others from eating what they want.

So uh most fast food places do some pretty horrible stuff. (Watch Super Size Me) But they did a whole test and graded each restaurant based on how well they treat their food and stuff, and how wholesome it is, and the only restaurant that got an A was Chick-Fil-A <333

Chick-Fil-A uses free range chickens, and they don't give them any steroids or any growth modifiers.

Big companies will mostly use battery farms, because they have to supply so many people, in England I've heard that all Macdonald's restaurants are using meats from free range farms, but because America isn't as farmish and we have different standards over here it'll be a while before fast food chains make the switch.

My sister watched that last year. She cried in the corner of the health classroom because she was so disgusted. I'm scared for 7th grade now (i just started 6th on August 27)

Yeah, and Chick-Fil-A tastes legit.

And Hardee's new chicken tenders do taste legit.

Yeah, but they've sort of ruined that edge up for themselves recently.

And like, animals at slaughtering age are close to death/would be hunted in the wild anyway.

You have lots of incorrect information here.
Humans were originally herbivores. Or, as many people are putting it, we are 'meant' to be herbivores. There is a truckload of proof:
-Carnivores have intestines that are about 5 times longer than their body length. This goes for most carnivores. Herbivores, on the other hand, have intestines that are 10 times as long as their bodies. Humans have the same intestine ratio as a herbivore.
-Carnivores’ stomachs more acidic than herbivores' stomachs. Human stomachs have the same acidity as a herbivores stomach.
-The saliva of carnivores is acidic. The saliva of herbivores is alkaline. We have alkaline saliva.
-Carnivore bowels are smooth and pipe-shaped so meat passes through quickly. Herbivore bowels are bumpy and with lots of pockets so plant foods pass through slowly so we can get the most nutrient absorption. Human bowels have the characteristics of herbivores.
-Carnivores do not need fiber to help move food through their shoirt, smooth digestive system. Herbivores require fiber to help food get through their long and bumpy digestive system, so things don't get clogged down there.
-Carnivores can handle high-cholesterol diets without health effects. A human cannot. Humans have no need for cholesterol because our bodies make all the cholesterol we need. Cholesterol is only found in animal foods (meat), never in plant foods. A plant diet is the vest way to eat cholesterol-free.
-Carnivores have claws and sharp front teeth so they can easily kill prey, not flat molars for chewing. Herbivores have no claws or sharp teeth (why would they need it?), but they have flat molars that are good for chewing plant material. Guess what? Humans have the same characteristics as herbivores.
-Humans aren't actually suited to be carnivorous, or even omnivorous. Why do you think we take so long to digest meat? Why do you think we are morbidly obese as a species now? It is because so long ago, we started eating meat, which wasn't natural and harmed are bodies in immediate ways (we probably got sick at first, but now our bodies have adapted to that) and long term ways, like this obesity. Our body isn't suited to handle all this cholesterol we are getting from the meat we eat.

Lastly, if you even tried to feed meat to a cow, it wouldn't. I guess if you starved it for weeks and then gave it some meat it would eat it, but it probably wouldn't like it and would suffer from serious health effects. It wouldn't get the taste of blood or anything like that, and definately WOULD NOT 'become barbaric and start killing other animals'. Don't be ridiculous.

Please don't spread around facts that you clearly haven't researched. I'm not saying you are stupid, its more like you are misinformed. A simple google search to a trusted website could have told you all of this.

Meat was the first thing we started eating in terms of survival in Hunter-Gatherer societies. Plants would become more prevalent in the agricultural revolution.
